My Heartbeat

She was my very best friend and favorite travel partner. Some of my greatest memories right now are of the times we shared together, just the two of us, from Maui for our first horseback ride and scuba dive to Vegas to NYC to my first cruise to the Grand Canyon. We had spent a mother/daughter trip in New York seeing all the tourist areas from Broadway to the Statue of Liberty, and we went back to look for wedding dresses and had an absolute ball! “I’m coming to New York again this summer!” She would say that every time we talked for the last few months just before we hung up, except on Sunday night. Her last words to me were I love you and tell Joe I love him too. She was everything that I hope to be. I deeply miss her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, compassionate heart, loving correction and generous acts of kindness for others. She was the absolute best mother a girl could ever dream of having.
